Responsible gaming at Kanuuna
Start playingWe run Kanuuna so that playing slots and live dealer games stays entertainment, not an obligation. This page explains the control tools we offer, the warning signs worth watching for, and the free UK support available when gambling stops being fun.
Why responsible gambling matters
Gambling is a leisure activity. The moment it feels like work, like a way to solve money problems, or like something you cannot walk away from, it has stopped being what it should be. We design our platform with limits and breaks built in, but the most effective safeguard is still your own awareness of how you feel while playing.
Signs gambling is getting out of hand
These behaviours are concrete warning signs, not abstract warnings:
- Chasing losses by depositing again immediately after a losing session
- Lying to family or friends about how much you spend or how often you play
- Borrowing money, selling belongings, or missing bill payments to fund play
- Feeling restless, irritable or anxious when you are not gambling
- Playing to escape problems or negative feelings rather than for enjoyment
- Neglecting work, studies or relationships because of time spent gambling
Recognising even one of these in your own behaviour is reason enough to take a break and seek support.
Questions worth asking yourself
A short self-check, answered honestly:
- Do I gamble with money I cannot afford to lose?
- Have I tried to cut down or stop, and failed?
- Do I feel guilty or ashamed after gambling?
- Has anyone close to me expressed concern about my gambling?
- Do I gamble to win back money I have lost?
- Am I spending more time or money gambling than I intended to?
If you answered yes to more than one, it is time to use the tools below or reach out for help.
Kanuuna's control tools
We offer operator-side self-exclusion, which blocks access to your account for a period you choose. Once activated, you cannot log in, deposit or play until the exclusion period expires. This is not reversible on request – the lock stays in place for the full term.
Deposit limits let you set a maximum amount per day, week or month. Once the limit is reached, no further deposits are accepted until the period resets. You can lower a limit immediately; raising one takes 24 hours to take effect, giving you time to reconsider.
Cooling-off periods allow you to suspend your account temporarily – typically for 24 hours, 48 hours, one week or one month – without closing it permanently. During a cooling-off period you cannot log in or play, but you can still contact support if needed.
Practical limits that work
Set a budget before you start playing, and treat it as the cost of entertainment – money spent, not invested. Never gamble with money earmarked for rent, bills or groceries.
Use a timer or alarm to limit session length. Two hours feels very different from five, and the longer you play, the harder it becomes to stop while ahead.
Take regular breaks. Step away from the screen every 30 to 45 minutes, even if only for five minutes. This disrupts the flow state that makes it easy to lose track of time and money.
Avoid alcohol while gambling. Impaired judgement leads to larger bets, longer sessions and decisions you would not make sober.
Never chase losses. If a session goes badly, accept it and walk away. Trying to win back what you lost almost always makes the loss larger.

Blocking software
Gamban (gamban.com) is blocking software that prevents access to gambling sites and apps across all devices. It runs in the background, cannot be easily bypassed, and covers tens of thousands of gambling domains worldwide.
BetBlocker (betblocker.org) is a free, open-source alternative that works on desktop, mobile and tablet. It blocks gambling sites and can be configured to block specific categories or all gambling content.
Protecting minors
Access to Kanuuna is restricted to persons aged 18 and over (18+). We verify age and identity before processing any withdrawal, and we block accounts immediately if we suspect underage access.
If you share a device with someone under 18, consider installing parental-control software such as Net Nanny or Qustodio. Both allow you to block gambling sites by category, set time limits, and monitor browser activity.
For questions about our responsible-gambling policies, contact [email protected]. For direct help with a gambling problem, use the UK resources above – they are free, confidential, and staffed by people who understand what you are going through.
